Spurious Spaces
The “howto”
- Open your MS Word document
- Save As a new name – you don’t want to be in the position of not being able to recover, should things go awry.
- Press the key combination “Ctrl+H” – control + “h”
- You will see a prompt appear called “Find and Replace”
- In “Find what:” type double space – that is two space characters, not ‘double space’
- In “Replace with:” type a single space – that is a single space character, not ‘single space’
- Next click ‘Replace All’
- Keep clicking ‘Replace All’ until the messages comes back telling you, ‘We made 0 replacements’.
- You’re done. Save your corrected document.
